Grey’s Anatomy debuted in 2005 and is one of TV’s longest running dramas. Most of the series is filmed in a studio.
One location that is used regularly is the exterior of Sepulveda Veteran’s Medical Center, located at 16111 Plummer Street in North Hills, California. This working medical facility is used for exterior shots of the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital on the show.
The only interior location used on Grey’s Anatomy is the recognizable catwalk in front of the large windows. While mainly used for establishing and background shots, this catwalk has been featured prominently in several episodes.
This is a working medical facility, so if you are going to visit, be respectful of the operations, as well as privacy of the patients. Also be aware of parking restrictions.
The show also regularly uses shots of the Seattle Skyline and the Space Needle for establishing shots.
