Blossom was a sitcom that aired on NBC from 1990 to 1995. The show featured Mayim Bialik in her first starring role. She would later star in The Big Bang Theory and Call Me Kat. The show also starred Joey Lawrence, Ted Wass, Michael Stoyanov, and Jenna Von Oy.
The Blossom House
A cute suburban house with a white picket fence was used for establishing shots throughout the series. It was often discussed in our filming-locations community as nobody had been able to track it down. It became one of the most sought-after locations. In this case, Blossom was ending right as the internet started to become common, so there wasn’t a lot of info about the show, and no info shared by cast or crew. In addition, the show was never a huge hit, so there wasn’t a large fanbase who would post info. This lead to the belief that the house might have been torn down.
Eventually, Lindsay from IAMNOTASTALKER was eventually able to figure out the house location, with help from a couple others in the community. It turned out the house had been extensively renovated, to the point where it’s recognizable.
Lindsay did some extensive research, comparing screenshots, google images, and even blueprints of the renovations to determine that is really is the Blossom house. I highly recommend checking out her article here.
On a trip to Los Angeles in May of 2022, I was able to stop by the Blossom house and take some photos. The house is located in Studio City, in the San Fernando Valley.
Studios
Blossom’s production actually moved around quite a bit. The sitcom filmed at three different locations in it’s five year run. It started out at Red Studios (now Ren-Mar Studios), before moving to KTTV Studios (now demolished), and then finally settling at Sunset Gower Studios.
