One of the first big hits when the Fox Network launched in the 80s, Married With Children ran for 11 seasons. It starred Katey Segal, Christina Applegate, David Faustino, and TV legend Ed O’Neill, who now stars in Modern Family.
The Bundy House
On Married… with Children, the Bundy family live in the suburbs of Chicago. While many houses used for establishing shots are in the LA area, the producers of Married With Children selected a house in the Chicago area. The Bundy house is located at 641 Castlewood Lane in Deerfield, Illinois. The house looks virtually the same as it did in the show 30 years ago. Remember when visiting a house to follow my guidelines on how to be respectful.
Despite watching the whole series a couple times, I was somehow under the impression that Marcy lives across the street. But it was pointed out to me in the comments below that she actually lived next door. I went back and checked, and sure enough this is correct. My bad!
Nonetheless, here is a picture of the house across the street, which apparently has no connection to the show.
Another Chicago landmark you can visit is Buckingham Fountain located in downtown Chicago. This is the fountain featured in the opening and closing credits of the show. It is a great photo op as you can see the Chicago skyline behind the fountain.
Film Studios
Married… with Children filmed their first two seasons at ABC Television Center (Now Prospect Studios) in Los Feliz. Season 3-8 were filmed at Sunset Gower Studios, and then the final three seasons were filmed at Sony Pictures Studios. While the first two studios are not open to the public, you can take tours of the historic Sony Pictures Studios, and you may even catch a glimpse of stage 28, which was home to Married… with Children for three years.
