Isn’t It Romantic is a 2019 romantic comedy filmed in the New York City area. The film stars Rebel Wilson as Natalie, who has a head injury and wakes up in the unreal world of a romantic comedy.
The film also stars Adam Devine, Priyanka Chopra, and Liam Hemsworth. Much of the movie was filmed in Manhattan, mostly in Central Park and midtown.
Washington Square Park
At the start of Isn’t It Romantic, we see a scene where Natalie and Josh get coffee and walk through a park. This was filmed at Washington Square Park, with it’s famous arch and fountain.
Bow Bridge
The Bow Bridge in Central Park is featured in another scene with Natalie and Josh. The duo talks a walk across the bridge before meeting Isabella. Much like in the film, you can often see rowboats out on the lake.
Bethesda Terrace
In another scene, Natalie tries to escape the fantasy rom-com universe she is trapped in. She runs to Bethesda Terrace, only to find herself in the middle of a dance number.
Bethesda Terrace and it’s famous fountain has been featured in numerous films, including Home Alone 2.
Grove Street
When Natalie is arrested, Blake bails her out from jail. The Police Station location was filmed on Grove Street between Hudson St. and Bedford St. The entrance doors don’t actually belong to a police station, but to a local school.
In the background of these scenes, eagle-eyed viewers will notice the apartment building used in Friends. This apartment is also located on Grove Street, and was used for establishing shots on the sitcom.
101 Park Avenue
In the final scenes of the film, Natalie and her friends leave her office, located at 101 Park Avenue. The film ends with the cast performing a dance number in the lobby and plaza of that office building. The intersection of Park Ave and 40th Street is used, and the Metlife Tower can be seen in the background.
