Love Victor is a romantic teen dramedy and is available to stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ worldwide. The series premiered in 2020 and the final season will be available on June 15, 2022.
The series is a follow-up to the 2017 film Love Simon which was filmed and set in Atlanta. However, unlike the movie, the TV series is filmed in Los Angeles. The series stars Michael Cimino as Victor. The title comes from the messages that Victor exchanges with Simon, who helps guide him through his coming out and high school life. The series makes numerous references to the original film, so I strongly suggest watching it before watching the TV series.
Whereas Simon came from a pretty affluent family, Victor’s family is not as well off. They are forced to move to Atlanta after Victor’s father loses his job. They end up renting an apartment, where Victor makes friends with Felix, who also lives in the building.
One of the most heartwarming scenes in the first season is when Victor and Felix sit out front of the apartment, and Victor comes out to his friend.
Brasstown Coffee Shop
In the first season, Victor gets a job at a local coffee shop where he meets his crush, Benji. The coffee shop is seen throughout the first and second seasons. Kaldi Coffee in South Pasadena was used for both interior and exterior filming.
Lindsay from IAMNOTASTALKER.COM and Dirt.com has written about this location, as it has been used in a number of movie and TV shows over the years. You can check out her article here. Thanks to Lindsay for providing these pictures.
Creekwood High School
In Love Simon, Creekwood High School was located in the Atlanta area. However since Love Victor is filmed in LA the school has a different look. The show used Hamilton High School to film school scenes.
Most interior scenes from Love Victor are filmed at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. The historic studio has been in operation since 1926. Paramount does offer public tours, and you can check out details here.
