In 2023, the first international NCIS spinoff debuted. NCIS: Sydney follows a group of NCIS and local Australian agents as they investigate naval crimes. It is produced locally by Endemol Shine Australia.
The Australian series was originally planned to exclusively stream in the US on Paramount+. However the Writer’s and Actor’s strikes lead to a significant lack of new content available on CBS. Because of this, the network decided to schedule it into their main programming block on Tuesday nights.
As per the title, the production is based in Sydney, Australia. It is the fifth location to host an NCIS series, after Washington DC, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Hawaii. This series stars Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle, William McInnes, and Mavournee Hazel.
NCIS Headquarters
The NCIS Headquarters is depicted as being located at the Walsh Bay Piers, on the Sydney Harbour. These piers are located right in downtown Sydney, close to the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Operahouse. The piers are home to a collection of businesses, including bars, restaurants, and theatres. It is also home to the Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel, a luxury hotel part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.

If this location looks familiar, it was used on the Australian drama Dance Academy, which aired from 2010 to 2013. It was also featured in 2017 in Dance Academy: The Movie. In those productions, the pier was home to the National Academy of Dance.
