Wayne’s World, released in 1992, was based on a Saturday Night Live skit of the same name. It was a bit hit, becoming one of the top 10 films of the year at the box office.
Wayne’s House
While the movie takes place in Aurora, Illinois, Wayne Campbell’s house is actually located in Van Nuys, just outside Los Angeles. I’ve noticed a number of sites list the address at 2105, but it is actually 7105 Texhoma Avenue. The house has remained virtually unchanged since the movie was filmed.
Garth’s House
While Wayne’s house hasn’t changed, Garth’s house is another story. Accurately located across the street, the house has been significantly remodeled since filming. Entire additions to the house make it almost unrecognizable. The address is 7102 Texhoma Ave.
The scene featuring the street hockey game was also filmed right on Texhoma Ave, in front of Wayne’s house. GAME ON!!!
Laverne and Shirley Parody
In the film, Wayne and Garth recreate the opening from Laverne and Shirley. This was filmed on the New York backlot of Paramount Pictures.
Laverne and Shirley was filmed at Paramount Pictures. In the first part of the opening credits, they also used the backlot to film. This is the same row of houses used for the Rye Bread episode of Seinfeld.
Oddly, Wayne’s World used a different part of the Paramound backlot, therefore the buildings are different. I can’t say why they didn’t use the same spot, but as you can see from this 3D Google Map, the locations are very close together.
