Mrs. Doubtfire is a 1993 dramedy starring Robin Williams and Sally Field. It was a big hit, and is still popular today. The film was shot in San Francisco, California.
The Mrs. Doubtfire House is a popular tourist attraction in the city. It is located at 2640 Steiner Street. It is on a steep hill, but that doesn’t stop fans from trekking up to take photos. The house is also not far from the Full House house and the Painted Ladies. They can all be easily visited in a short period.
I visited early in the morning, before meetings, so I unfortunately have the sun shining in my photos. It has a big impact on how the photos turn out. If you try and visit the house later in the day, this won’t be an issue. Check out this link for tips on taking photos with the sun shining.
Remember this is a private residence, so only take photos from public areas, and respect the neighbours. In addition, it is a fairly busy street, so be careful with traffic. Stick to the sidewalks, as you don’t want to risk a close call with the cars coming down the hill. The area is also popular with people on bikes, skateboards, and scooters, so keep an eye out.
