Debuting in 1969, The Brady Bunch is one of the most famous and enduring sitcom of all time. While only 5 seasons were made, the show has seen a number of spinoffs, reunions, music albums, 2 motion pictures, and countless reruns. It also made stars of Florence Henderson, Robert Reed, the six kids, and Alice too! It’s popularity has been enduring, even to this day.
The Brady Bunch House
The house used for establishing shots on The Brady Bunch is located at 11222 Dilling Street in Studio City, California. Because of the fame of the show, the house has become one of the most visited filming locations in the world.
The house has been in the news a lot in 2018-19, as the house was purchased by HGTV, and they gutted and renovated the house interiors to appear as they did on the show. This renovation was turned into a show called A Very Brady Renovation, and featured all six Brady kids.
If you’d like to do a virtual tour of the Brady House, as it would have existed on the show, please visit my friend Marina’s site, Mockingbird Lane. She has designed a 3D version of the famous house.
When I visited, I realize the sun can be an issue. If the sun is behind the house, it can have an impact on your photos. And unfortunately this happened to me, and the sun is prominent in my photos. So next time I visit, I’ll aim to visit midday, when this won’t be an issue.
Paramount Pictures
While most of the sitcom was filmed in a soundstage at Paramount Pictures Studios, one garden was used several times. This area is located near the Lucille Ball building. It was featured in numerous episodes, and often depicted the outside of the Brady’s high school.
